Argentina have scheduled two high profile friendly games to prepare for the World Cup

The Albaceleste of Argentina would play two high profile preparatory matches against Italy and Spain, as they step up preparations for the World Cup.

The President of Argentina football federation Claudio Tapia revealed the scheduled date for the matches.

He said “They are two important national sides and will give a lot of value to our preparation. Spain qualified for the World Cup and we know what they represent in football.”

The AFA boss said even though Italy will not be at the world cup the pre-planned friendly agreement would go on as scheduled

Tapia said, “We had an agreement with Italy that was signed by the previous management and we have to respect it otherwise AFA would face a very important financial loss”.

The two-time World Cup winners would tackle Spain on Friday 23 March, and later take on the Les blues of France on Tuesday 27 March.

The Super Eagles defeated Argentina when both sides met in a friendly match last November before the draws were made for the World Cup

The AFA boss also revealed that Argentina would play a friendly match at home just before they travel to camp in Barcelona, to intensify preparations for the football fiesta.

The Nigerian football federation on their part has scheduled friendlies against Poland and England for the super eagles.

The Super Eagles were drawn alongside Croatia, Iceland and Argentina in group d of the world cup.
