Super Eagles duo Peter Eneji and Emeka Ogbugh face a race to be fit for Nigeria's second group game of the African Nations Championship.
Home based Super Eagles duo Peter Eneji and Emeka Ogbugh are doubts for Nigeria's second group game of the African Nations Championship (CHAN).
Super Eagles head coach Salisu Yusuf said the duo are doubts as his side prepares for their must win match against the 2014 CHAN champions.
Eneji who plays for NPFL champions Plateau United was deemed not fit enough to play the in Super Eagles goalless draw against Rwanda in their opening match.
Eneji has been battling with an injury he picked up before he was selected for the tournament.
Salisu Yusuf said “He (Eneji) had a knock in the last game we played in Abuja in his ankle and we thought that maybe he can play the third game hopefully. He is a good player and of good quality but we are still managing the ankle.”
Ogbugh who plays for Rivers United picked up a knock in the opening game against against Rwanda, and even though he trained with the Eagles, their are still doubts about his injury which may rule him out of the crucial game against Libya.
The Home-based Super Eagles take on their counterparts from Libya, in their second group game at the CHAN on Friday, January 19 at the Stade Ibn Batouta, Tangier, Kick off- 5.30pm Nigeria time).
