Despite 2016-17 season being great for Moses, soccer fans in the continent think Mohammed Salah had achieved more and deserving of both awards.
Nigeria’s team coach and captain showed their level of patriotism in last week’s CAF Awards for 2017 by voting their team member - Victor Moses. This despite Moses not being one of the three front-runners for the African Football of the year.
National team captains and managers are eligible voters in this category, hence both John Mikel and Gernot Rohr maintained that Victor Moses is best for the award in 2017 considering his achievements.
The award for the best player of the year went to way of Mohammed Salah – Egyptian and Liverpool forward. Both Sadio Mane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are runners. More so, Victor Moses had the fourth overall votes in this category.
Mikel and Rohr were not alone in this thought as the coaches of South Sudan, Namibia, Swaziland cast their final votes for Chelsea winger. The captain of South Sudan also voted Victor Moses as the best.
