That can even plunge you into academic problems you might never graduate from. And at the end, the student may have to quit if the lecturer is an unforgiving type.

Over-confidence and exuberance sometimes get into students heads. It makes them feel more important than their lecturers and this is one thing Nigerian lecturers won't take from you.

Don't date a beautiful girl.

Dating beautiful girls has put a lot of male students into unwarranted trouble in the past, and might get you too into one if you date the girl your lecturer is eyeing.

 

There have been stories of lecturers intimidating a student simply because he is going out with one beautiful girl in their department. So, making such girls your best friend on campus could land you into trouble. Avoid such a relationship.

Avoid Confrontation

If you think you think you know a topic very well, and you feel like engaging your lecturer in a hot academic argument, you might end up realizing that your understanding of the topic is actually dim because the lecturers might gang up to show you where you belong.

 

Such behaviour might lead you to get carryover in so many courses you think you know quite well. Please, don't form ITK for any lecturer this year abeg!

Sit away from troublemakers

You know the crop of students that enjoying sitting at the back to disrupt everything, they call them backbenchers. You'll need to avoid those guys to have a splendid academic year.

 

The truth is a lot of lecturers have unpleasant opinions about backbenchers because of their behaviours and they often look forward to punishing them at any slight opportunity.

Mind you, these guys don't really care because they know how to settle themselves. So you as mummy's boy will need to sitting with such students so that the lecturers would not visit the sins of the bad guys on a gentleman like you.

Avoid behaviours that upset your lecturer

Nigerian lecturers have rules and they hate their rules to be violated. The punishment in most cases is carryover.

Many lecturers don't like to see their students chewing, sleeping or side-talking when they are teaching. You need to find out what each lecturer detest so as not to fall victim of needless carryovers.

 

Go to class on time

Strolling into the lecture room like the Vice-Chancellor or the Rector when the lecturer had already started the class can also land you in trouble.

Nigerian lecturers don't like students who come late to school. In fact, when you come late, you give them the opportunity to disgrace you in the presence of your course mate.

If you don't want 2018 academic embarrassment, be punctual always.
