Nigerian National League: This is how the NNL Super Four went down

A review of the action that happened in the Nigerian National league Super four

Go Round football club of Omoku has emerged winners of the Nigerian National League (NNL) Super Four tournament.

The end of the season tournament which was held the Agege soccer temple in Lagos featured the top two teams in the northern and southern division, who gained promotion to the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL).

 

The four teams that participated in this year's edition were Heartland and Go Round from the southern division, Kwara United from the northern division while Remo Stars replaced Yobe Desert Stars who pulled out just before the start of the tournament.

In the preliminary round, Go round defeated Kwara United 4-2 on penalties to book their spot in the final.

The second match saw a twist of events, as even though Remo stars defeated Heartland 1-0,  they conceded the final spot to Heartland.

Heartland and Go Round squared up in an entertaining finale, two goals from Go Round forward Solomon Nwachukwu was enough to see the Rivers State side emerge champions by two goals to one.

The victory will serve as a morale booster for Go-round as the 2018 NPFL kicks off across venues around the country on Saturday, January 13.
