To have a great new year, listen to Pope Francis’ new advice

When the leader of the Roman Catholic church speaks, you already know it is going to be something great.

Pope Francis is here with the perfect advice for anyone worried about having a great 2018.

The Roman Catholic leader is encouraging everyone to avoid the “banality of consumerism” and “empty chatter.”

According to the Pontiff, another way to start the year on a good note is  "by leaving life’s “useless baggage” in 2017.

He advises us to do this so that we can truly “rediscover what really matters” and go from there.

In his words, “At the beginning of the year, we too, as Christians on our pilgrim way, feel the need to set out anew from the centre, to leave behind the burdens of the past and to start over from the things that really matter.”

Pope Francis also recommends making time for God on a daily basis as this helps to “keep our freedom from being corroded by the banality of consumerism, the blare of commercials, the stream of empty words and the overpowering waves of empty chatter and loud shouting.”
