Super Falcons star player Asisat Oshoala is not impressed with the Falcons not playing a competitive game since December 2016

Super Falcons star player Asisat Oshoala has requested for more preparatory matches for the Nigerian women's team.

The attacker who was recently crowned the 2017 CAF African women player of the year, reiterated the need for warm-up matches.

Her request comes after the Nigerian football federation (NFF) confirmed a friendly match for the Falcons against France in April.

The three-time winner of the women African footballer of the year told the BBC "It's a good one, a big step for us and good news for women's football in Nigeria generally but it's not enough,"

The match is in preparation for the CAF African women's nations cup scheduled to take place in Ghana later this year.

Oshoala, however, insisted for more games, she said: "It's not about the France game alone, but we need more games like this and we don't have to plead before we get games."

The Dalian Quanjian forward also touched the topic of the senior women team without a manager, she said she has spoken to NFF President Amaju Pinnick on finding a successor to Florence Omagbemi’s.

She said "I've had an honest conversation with the president of the Nigeria Football Federation (Amaju Pinnick) about this "

"He's been very positive and in a couple of weeks we will definitely have someone to lead the team."

The match against France is scheduled to take place on Wednesday 4th of April  and would be the first outing for the super falcons since their triumph at the African women's nations cup in December 2016
