Nigerian midfielder Alex Iwobi has apologised to Arsenal fans for partying the night before their shocking FA Cup defeat to Nottingham Forest on Sunday, January 7.

The 21-year-old was heavily criticised for it and Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger also condemned it and confirmed that the player will be fined.

Iwobi has however apologised, walking up to the away end at Stamford Bridge after Arsenal’s goalless draw against Chelsea on Wednesday, January 10 to express his regret over his actions.

Arsenal fans after the game confirmed on Arsenal Fan TV that the midfielder walked up to them and apologised.

Iwobi also played 90 minutes in the first leg semi-final of the League Cup on Wednesday.

After the game, Wenger defended his selection, insisting that the midfielder played because he was important to the team.
