Arsenal football club puts Nigerian Jollof Rice on its menu.
Popular football club, Arsenal has begun to put Nigerian Jollof rice on its food menu.
Alex Iwobi is a professional footballer who plays as a forward for Premier League club Arsenal and the Nigeria national team.
On Tuesday 5 December, Alex Iwobi posted a picture using his verified account on his Instagram story of the food menu for the day at Arsenal’s club.
The food menu had the clubs official logo at the top with the date and Jollof rice as the first food item.
He commented on the picture saying "Arsenal F.C. now serving Nigerian JOLLOF RICE. My club is too lit abeg"
It may not appear to be a big deal that Nigerian Jollof rice is being offered on the football clubs food menu seeing as they have quite a few Nigerian football players on the team, it’s certainly given Nigerians bragging rights.
Jollof rice is such a big deal in Africa that Africans have succeeded in establishing World Jollof Rice Day which is internationally recognized on August 22 every year since 2015.
While there has been back and forth debating about the Jollof rice wars, it appears Nigerian Jollof has won this round.
