2017 saw a lot of beauty brands taking over!

These makeup and beauty brands brought their 'A' game for the year but a few went a lot further producing/improving on their products, so this particular list isn't based on number of clients and makeovers and definitely not social media following but on recreating and sealing the brand as one to reckon with!

These beauty brands improved either by rebranding/repackaging or introducing new lines, some came more exciting, improved as well on their offerings and presentations.

A lot of these brands raised the ante, repositioned themselves this year with raved new products from their stables.

1. Zaron Cosmetics

 

Zaron Cosmetics again came stronger in 2017 (just like 2016) even more exciting, they added new and raved products to their collection.

With the Zaron Maxi Blend compact powder added to the line recently, matte eyebrow stick, the lengthening mascara making a comeback amongst other products, the brand sure had a swell 2017 yet again.

2. Yanga Beauty

 

Yanga beauty rocked 2017 with a gentle campaign of their best selling Browlution pencil and lip glosses and stains. Also a makeup retailer/reseller the brand's range of products are raved by makeup artists and beauty enthusiasts. The brand had a great year.

3. Beauty Kink

 

Beauty Kink unveiled her Kinklash; a range of luxury mink and affordable eyelashes that have fast become bestsellers.

4. House of Tara

House of Tara rocked 2017 with a bang. Asides introducing new products (lipstains, this year, their makeover game came stronger with celebrities showing flawless makeover from their stable this year.

5. Switch Cosmetics

Switch Cosmetics came on stronger for 2017, their range of products especially HD Skin Film foundation and skin shield powder were major hauls. A lot of the makeovers done by the brand on celebrities this year went around.

6. Hegai & Esther

 

This indigenous makeup brand has a range of products that work for the face, eyes, lips and even tools. Their products have gotten rave reviews and they had an amazing run in 2017 also adding new lines to the brand.

7. Taos Cosmetics

Taos Cosmetics rings in 2017 with their fabulous strobe pot that quickly caught on. The brand improved on offerings and overall packaging as well.

8. Trim & Prissy

Trim & Prissy did well for 2017, apart from tapping singer Di’ja as face and launching a line of new lip lacquers, online skintone swatches and testing and in between forward thinking beauty bits, they came brilliant for 2017.
