A Muslim was attacked recently in Park Holme Mosque, Australia for not having a political opinion on the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

According to ABC News, the Muslim man was attending evening prayers around 9:30PM on Friday, December 22, 2017 when a random man walked up to him to ask Islam related religious questions.

Ahmad Zreika, President of South Adelaide’s Islamic Society explained to ABC that the Mosque was open to the public for meaningful dialogues about religion.

"We open our mosque doors every day to the general public in the hope that we can open meaningful dialogue, so that we can work on becoming a more inclusive Australia," Mr Zreika said.

Mr Zreika added that when the worshiper refused to respond to questions about the Israeli Palestinian conflict ‘Because he didn’t have the political insights on the subject matter – the man punched him in the face.

‘What’s your opinion on Jerusalem’ the attacker asked and the Muslim man says ‘I don’t want to be involved in this’ and the attacker said ‘You should have an opinion then punches him.’

A few minutes later the attacker left the mosque and the onlookers call the police,” Zreika added.

The Muslim man is in shock, he can’t understand why he was attacked,” he said.

The case is currently being investigated by the Police. It is the third attack on the Mosque this year [2017].

One month ago, a severed pig head was thrown into the Mosque. The Islamic religion frowns at the eating of pigs because it is seen as a filthy animal.
