Danladi will officially announce the move in his Bachama ward on Tuesday.
Former acting governor of Taraba State, Sani Danladi, has announced his defection from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives' Congress (APC).
According to a report by Premium Times, Danladi will officially announce the move in his Bachama ward, Karim Lamido Local Government Area of the state on Tuesday, December 26, 2017.
He said, "We are on our way to my local government where I will this Tuesday defect to APC, from ward level to local before state."
He also denied that he has any problems with the state's governor, Darius Ishaku, saying, "I'm not at loggerhead with anyone, but politics is all about interest, and this is where my people want me to go and bring change in the political landscape of our dear state."
A PDP chieftain in the state, David Dogo, said the party will not be affected by Danladi's defection and that the party wishes him good luck.
"No, we are not rattled at all, let him go, PDP wishes him luck," he said.
Failure as a lawmaker
Danladi's defection to the ruling party comes six months after the Supreme Court removed him as the lawmaker representing Taraba North in favour of Shuaibu Lau.
Lau had challenged the decision of the Court of Appeal that upturned his victory during the primary elections saying he was wrongfully substituted.
The Supreme Court granted him victory and asked Danladi to vacate his seat and refund all salaries and allowances he received within 90 days.
